What was the serpents’ offence?

It was manipulating Eve into accepting a corrupted version of Gods commands, something which many people are guilty of today.

The media circus, film industry, advertising companies and a multitude of others seek to persuade us that God didn’t really say or mean what He said.

Satan, in the garden, won the day and wrested Gods authority over earth from Adam, because he put forward a good case of justification. We get into trouble when we justify our actions. Self-justification makes us equal to God. Our original offence ceases to be serious, compared to the compound offence we create when we attempt to justify our actions.

So what reactions do we get from this curse?

We see that the serpent (Satan) was made to crawl and eat dust for all of his life, that he was going to be in opposition to Christ from then on and that Christ would ‘crush’ his head.

No wonder we have problems.

Because of original sin, we are born into Satan’s corrupt world system, because of Satan’s deception, that system is in opposition to Christ, so the whole of humanity finds itself in rebellion to Christ, until the day that they individually recognize who He really is, and surrender, repent, renounce and receive, reconciliation with God through Christ’s atoning sacrifice.

This much curse to undo, before we get to our curses, inherited directly from our forebearers, Adam & Eve.
